Vinyl and SPC flooring are low-maintenance, but proper care extends their life and keeps them looking new. Here's our Malaysia-specific maintenance guide.

Daily Care - **Sweep or vacuum** — remove dust and grit that can micro-scratch the surface - **Wipe spills immediately** — even waterproof SPC, don't let liquids sit - **Use doormats** — trap sand and dirt at entry points

Weekly Cleaning - **Damp mop** with warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner - **Don't flood** — use a well-wrung mop, not a soaking wet one - **Microfiber mops** work best — they pick up more without excess water

What NOT to Do - ❌ Use bleach or harsh chemicals - ❌ Use abrasive scrubbers or steel wool - ❌ Steam mop (heat can damage adhesive and warp vinyl) - ❌ Drag heavy furniture (use felt pads) - ❌ Leave rubber-backed mats (causes discoloration) - ❌ Wax or polish vinyl floors (not needed and can cause buildup)

Malaysia-Specific Tips

Humidity management: - Run aircon or fans in enclosed rooms to control humidity - In East Malaysia's higher humidity, ensure good ventilation

Rain water at doorways: - Place absorbent mats at entry points - SPC handles splashes fine, but standing water at seams should be wiped

Kitchen grease: - Clean cooking oil splatters promptly with mild dish soap - Don't let oil sit — it can stain some vinyl surfaces

Handling Scratches & Damage

Light scratches: Usually in the wear layer only. Apply a small amount of mineral oil to mask them.

Deep scratches or damaged plank: The beauty of click-lock flooring is that individual planks can be replaced. Contact us and we can swap the damaged piece.

Dents from furniture: Use furniture pads/coasters under heavy items. For existing dents, a heat gun on low can sometimes reduce them (professional job recommended).
